By using specific light spectrums to identify stress in the crop aerial imagery can identify problems in the field that cannot be seen by the human eye. But the system cannot identify what the stress is, by using ground truthing we are able to go in field and identify stresses. After taking the image it is uploaded onto our mapping program and points are placed in the field that have high, medium, and low stress. Then, using GPS technology the consultant goes directly points and take a SPAD meter reading (reads chlorophyll content), tissue test, and writes down any observations. Finally, after all the factors are taken into account the yield limiting factor is determined and a recommendation is discussed with the grower.
Remote Sensing/Aerial Imaging Provider
January 22nd, 2011Technical Service Provider
January 22nd, 2011The staff is certified in many areas allowing your Agronomist to work with most NRCS programs.
Conservation Planning
January 22nd, 2011A conservation plan is needed for a complete 590 and 243. It is the basis for the ulimate level of environmental protection and producer liability protection. Our plans are written in the field, NOT IN AN OFFICE. Field verification of slopes, wetlands, HEL, erosion problems and buffer needs are based off visual observations in the field NOT AN OFFICE. Rotations are actual not based off averages done IN THE OFFICE. This means they are ongoing plans not one that expires days for weeks after they are written.
Comprehensive Nutrient Management Planning
January 22nd, 2011Overall farm plan that assesses any resource concerns present on the farmstead and farmland, giving recommendations to solve any environmental impacts that may be present. All employees are certified and have experience writing several plans. This company has not and will not write a plan that will not be followed up for years afterward. These plans have proved invaluable to producers for NRCS building project funding, farms applying for 243 certification and those in need of siting evaluation.
Seed Placement Recommendations
January 22nd, 2011We are a non-bias resource that can match the in field needs to the seed variety that can provide highest yield or highest economic return.
Pesticide Recommendations
January 22nd, 2011We are a non-bias resource that can recommend the most cost-effective herbicide, insecticide, or fungicide to mitigate a pest problem.
Fertilizer Recommendations
January 22nd, 2011Based on our soil sampling results the fertilizer recommendations are prescribed for each field. Tissue samples are done to determine any micronutrient needs and verify soil test results.
Crop Monitoring and Pest Management
January 22nd, 2011Crop monitoring is done on a weekly or more often basis during the spring and summer months. Using University and Integrated Pest Management guidelines our recommendations are based on sound scouting techniques and scientifically researched thresholds.
Yield and Spray monitor data evaluation
January 22nd, 2011Maps can be added to soil types, soil tests and scouting notes and other data to find reasons for yield loss and better evaluate yield potential on a field by field basis.
Variable Rate Technology Application Spread Maps
January 22nd, 2011Prescription spread maps can be created for lime, phosphorus and potassium amendments. By placing the fertilizer where it is needed the grower can maximize the potential and get the biggest bang for the buck. Variable rate starter and seeding rate maps are also available.
